This is soooo!!.wow..The Ghanaians Used Voodoo Charms On Us" - says Nigerian Soccer Team

Nigeria’s Under-23 captain, Kingsley Udoh has alleged that African charms (juju) were discovered in their dressing room, prior to their All Africa games final qualifying match against Ghana ’s Black Meteors at the Baba Yara Sports Complex on Sunday.
Holding a 3-1 first led advantage into the weekend’s cracker in Kumasi , the Nigerians crashed out of the race to play at the All Africa Games, because Ghana won 2-0.

Speaking to reporters, Udoh said that the team did not use the dressing room following the discovery of the charms.

“We were not in the match because some of us were not able to handle the horrific scenes that we saw when we entered the dressing room. I am not making excuses for our loss but when we made to enter the dressing room, we saw charms and imagine the kind of feelings or fears that could generate for young chaps like us.

“There is more to how the Ghanaians attained this win than by playing good football. We are a good team which they also know but on that day, some players I felt were good could not play well. Juju may not be working in sports but the fear of it could disorientate some people and I felt some people lost it to fear because of what they saw in the dressing room”, added Udoh.

Lagos task force sends 28 prostitutes to jail….bravo Nigeria

The 28 suspected prostitutes arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Offences (Enforcement) Unit have been sent to Kirikiri Prison by the Special Offences Court sitting in Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos, South West Nigeria.
The suspected prostitutes were arrested by the taskforce at Adeola Hopewell in Victoria Island while on the street soliciting for high profile male customers.
The taskforce had swoop on them in the night unannounced and brought them to the taskforce headquarters at Alausa where they were detained and later arraigned at the special court. The presiding magistrate ordered that they be remanded in Kirikiri Prison pending further hearing of their case which comes up on Thursday.

The suspected prostitutes had earlier pleaded not guilty to the offence they were being charged with.
When contacted, taskforce Chairman, Supol. Bayo Sulaiman, told P.M.NEWS that the suspected prostitutes had been constituting nuisance in the area and that residents of the area had been complaining bitterly about them.

“We raided them because we want to make the environment friendly because they cause nuisance to the society.
“Moreover, there are children living in these areas and it is also a highbrow area too. This is not the first time we are embarking on this kind of raid; it is a continuous exercise,” he stated.
According to him, “if they want to prostitute, they should go to brothel and not expose their bodies outside the streets in these areas. Because Victoria Island is a highbrow area, we have lots of expatriates there.”

Nollywood actress sentenced to death by hanging

A seven-man panel of the Supreme Court today in Abuja upheld the death sentence passed on Kano state based Nollywood actress, Miss Rabi Ismaila, by a Kano state High Court and the Court of Appeal in the Kaduna Division, for allegedly drugging and drowning her boyfriend, Mr. Auwalu, in 2002.
In 2005, Justice Haliru Mohammed Abdullahi found Rabi Ismaila guilty of homicide as charged and sentenced her to death by hanging.
The judge held that he was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Rabi Ismaila also known as Rabi Cecilia among prostitutes, committed the act because she admitted in her statement that she removed N10,000 from the late Auwalu before pushing him into the dam.

Only a few people were aware that the actress appealed the judgement. There were rumours she had escaped from prison while some people believed she had been executed in the prison.
But in 2008, the court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna, presided over by Justice Alkali Ba’aba, upheld the High Court judgement that convicted Rabi Ismaila.
She then appealed to the Supreme Court which upheld the death sentence passed on her today.

Family of President Barrack Obama, Furious Over Adoption Claims in New Book

THE family of President Barrack Obama in Kenya has reacted angrily over a new book to be released next week. It claims that Barrack Obama Senior planned to give his son up for adoption. Obama family spokesperson Malik Abongo described the book authored by Boston Globe reporter Sally Jacobs as "a fabrication, malicious and a political ploy." The Other Barrack: The Bold and Reckless Life of President Obama's Father will be released on Tuesday by Public Affairs Press in the US.

In the book, Jacobs claims that 24-year-old college student Obama Snr and his five-months-pregnant 18-year-old wife, Ann Dunham initially planned to give up their unborn child for adoption via the Salvation Army.

Jacobs' candid look at Obama Snr paints a portrait in sharp contrast to the one in the President's memoir Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. Jacobs portrays Obama Snr as a brilliant but troubled man who lived a reckless life. Jacobs claims that Obama Snr told immigration authorities in 1961 that he and his wife were not planning to keep their child.to read more go here..

Anti-immigration party member becomes Italy's first black mayor

The translator and hotel director, who has a black American father and an Italian mother, voted for Barack Obama in the US presidential elections. She said there was no contradiction in a black woman representing the Italian anti-immigration party. “To tolerate illegal immigration above all harms those who enter our country with the desire to work and integrate themselves and to have a normal life,” she said. “In America I voted for Obama, in Italy for Bossi.”
Umberto Bossi, the rabble-rousing leader of the Northern League, is enjoying greater influence than ever in Silvio Berlusconi’s coalition government after the party doubled its share of the vote to more than 10 per cent in this month’s European elections.
Earlier this week it emerged that Mr Bossi had had discussions with Nick Griffin, the leader of the British National Party, which does not accept non-whites as members.
Ms Cane said she knew of no racist or xenophobic members of her party, adding that all she wanted to do was “clean up this town which is beautiful but very dirty”.
“I want to think about the elderly and the young,” she said. She regarded as a “joke” suggestions by the Northern League secretary in Milan, Matteo Salvini, that the city should segregate train passengers by race.

Joyce Sylvester: First black woman mayor in The Netherlands

Joyce Sylvester (43) is acting mayor of the Dutch city of Naarden. She is the first black woman to serve as mayor in the Netherlands. Sylvester is born in Amsterdam and is of Surinam descent.

Since there is so much attention for Sandy Cane, the first black mayor in Italy who is also a member of the right-wing party Lega Nord, here is a Dutch black mayor who is a member of a party which can be compared with the labour Party in the UK and with the Democrats in the USA.

About being black and female she stated in an interview (Dutch). "Yes, I am a woman and I have a colour, so what? I have experienced no limitations because of that." But during her first position as acting mayor she saw that gender and colour did matter. "You notice the signals from the organisation. You can't escape the fact of being seen as role model." to read more go here

Blacks in North Ireland Finds Its Voice

Members of the black community in Northern Ireland gather during Africa Week 2010 at Crescent Arts, Belfast to celebrate their cultures and create support networks.
It may be small - around 6,000 according to recent estimates - but Northern Ireland's black community is finding its collective voice and making that voice heard throughout the country. With high concentrations in places like Belfast, Londonderry / Derry, Dungannon and Omagh, Afro-Irish, which include Africans, people from the Caribbean, African Arabs and those with mix heritage, are finding ways to connect with each other and with the larger society.

Among those spearheading the effort is the Afro-Community Support Organisation Northern Ireland (ACSONI) which was created in 2003 in response to a growing number of problems facing the multi-ethnic black community.

A survey of African and Caribbean Northern Irish found "a lack of resources, community support, credible leadership and role models and a viable infrastructure to address specific needs of individuals, especially young people and women from Africa, Afro-Caribbeans and other individuals of African descent," explained ACSONI Programme Manager Alfred Abolarin.
